A “Goshuincho” is a notebook used
by visitors to Japanese temples
and shrines to collect stamps and
seals of the temple or shrine.
These stamps and seals, called
“goshuin,” are given to visitors
as proof of their visit and to receive
the blessings of the temple or shrine.
The Goshuincho has a cover with spaces
to write the names of the temples or
shrines and record the journey, as well as
pages with spaces to receive the stamps or seals.
It is a popular aspect of Japanese culture to
collect goshuin using a goshuincho
while visiting temples and shrines.
Thanks for reading.
